My aunt LaRee is the Betty Crocker of all cooks! This summer she suggested I make a polynesian dessert called Pani Popo, which is basically a pan of sweet dough rolls smothered in coconut milk, coconut flakes, and baked. My ward was having a pig roast for our ward party on Saturday, so I thought it fitting to have a coconut dessert, and decided to experiment with Pani Popo. It turned out very delicious.
If you love coconut, you'll love Pani Popo! I searched the internet and my bread books for recipes, the result is the September's recipe featured on the side bar.
These are sooo yummy! We used to live by a guy that was from Samoa that that owned his own restaurant and made these rolls for us several times. And my friend from Hawaii has made them for us too! Now I need to find someone where we live now to make them for us (so I don't have too!)
ReplyDeleteWe need to try some of these recipes. I love trying new stuff. It's been fun seeing your site and also seeing what you guys are up to. Hurry back to Utah!

ReplyDeleteSorry I keep taking up so much space. Seth! Holy crap! I can't believe how awesome your pottery stuff is down there at the bottom of the page. You've turned into a freaking genius. We still have those bowls you made us for our wedding. You are the best, I miss you tons. Hope you guys are having a great time out there. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHey Julie and Seth how are you guys doing? It's crazy to think it's been 2 years since Cedar City.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds divine. I think I will save this for the middle of January (you know the dead of winter when I don't want to leave my house) to remind me that summertime will come.
