Christmas has once again come to a close. Seth and I had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Day! Christmas Eve was spent delivering goodie plates to a few friends and visiting with them. We spent the evenning with Alysson and Mark Bernards and their 2 children, another family in our ward, celebrating Jesus by partaking of their Christmas Eve tradition of a "Jerusalem feast". We ate a dinner that consisted of food that would have been eaten at the time of Christ: lentil and barley stew, fish, cheese, crackers, squash, dates, cucumber slices, olives, and grape juice. We finished the meal by singing carols and reading that account of Jesus' birth found in the book of Luke. Following the evenning with the Bernards, we drove around a beautiful residential area full of gorgeous old mansion homes all lit with lights and the streets and sidewalks lined with luminaries. We were in awe with the number of streets lined with candles. The scene was lovely, and we're glad to have spent a Christmas in Lincoln.
The best house lit with christmas lights was tucked away on a side-street, and I'm so glad we just happened to drive down that lane, and that I just happened to look at that house, there in the window in all its glory was a lamp shade sitting upon a leg, it looked like a scene from the movie "The Christmas Story"! We had a good laugh of delight at our find! Of course we didn't have our camera with us, so we found our way back to the lamp leg tonight and a got a picture to prove it! (sorry they're blurry)

Christmas Day was lovely. We ate a breakfast feast, opened presnts, played a few games, and then spent the evenning and had Christmas dinner with another family in our ward.
I lucked out and once again to keep my own personal tradition of being sick on Christmas, came down with a cold on Christmas Eve. So all went well and right this Holiday! Below are some pictures and a clip from our Christmas.
So much fun!! Don't you love having ward members when you are away from home!!
