But lucky for me I received a wonderful Christmas gift that I must blog about...CLOROX FreshCare dishcloths with antimicrobial protection that "resist the growth of odor-causing bacteria". The antimicrobial protection on the dishcloth is reactivated every time they are laundered with bleach and detergent. Really, they are wonderful. And not that I didn't bleach my dishclothes before when laundering, but they would still turn sour with in a couple of days. If you have the same problem with your dishcloths, you must try these. I liked the Clorox dishcloths so much I bought a 2nd pack of 5 (only $5 at Wal-Mart - a great deal) and I decided it was time to put to rest all of my old and well-used dishclothes. AND, another nice feature about the cloths is that they are plush and large, and they stay white (so long as your husband doesn't use them to wash burnt tomatoe suace out of a pan before it is pre-scrubbed).
I never could understand why some people prefer to use sponges rather than dishcloths. I love dishcloths - they're bleachable, cleanable, and reusable. Sponges stay moldy, sour smelling, and are nothing but dirty germ-catchers (- are they even washable?), not to mention the size ratio of a 3 inch sponge vs. a 12" square cloth - how do you pick up crumbs and stuff with a sponge??? Have a large surface to wipe up? - No problem, a dishcloth will cover the area much faster and better than a sponge!
YEAH for clorox dish-clothes.

~There's nothing like the word-of-mouth for free advertising. But when there is a product I love, I have to share it.
So--these are reusable? You can wash them?
ReplyDeleteI usually use vinegar in the wash to get out the bad odor, because I don't want to bleach the color out of my dishcloths.
These look good, though...let me know if they are made to be washed or if they are disposable, I couldn't quite tell, even though it did say "cloth" on the box...I still wondered.
They are cloth, and the color on the cloth is bleach-safe color. They are 100% reusable.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Awesome! I'm going to try them for sure!
ReplyDeletethis is good to know. I have had that same problem.
ReplyDeleteI just got those too! I also love them and have thrown away all my other dish rags. I know how much smells bother you:) I am sure you are not missing the "smell" of your NE apartment. Miss ya!
ReplyDeleteMy mom got me some of these for my birthday because she read your blog! haha
