Finally! After 7 months and 1300 miles later, I was able to find a way to get Mazie, my sister's pet dog, now my pet! We left for Portland, Oregon on Monday, got as far as 80 miles before Portland and had to find a motel. Tuesday morning, we got up early as we decided to visit the Portland Temple. It's so amazingly beautiful, inside and out! Then we met up with my sister who met us in Portland. Seth's brother just happens to live in Portland; so we all went to lunch. Then Seth and I got to stay with my sis at her sister-n-laws place in Camas, WA (Suburb of Portland). On our way to Camas, I finally got to walk through an IKEA store. Wow, was it HUGE! Of course I had to make a small purchase. How can you go to IKEA and not buy anything??? We spent the evening watching the finalley of Idol and voting for Kris. Wednesday morning we left Camas and headed back home, and arrived just in time to see the last hour of Idol's result show (So glad Kris won - can't stand Adam!). It was a quick trip with lots of driving. But we got to see amazingly beautiful scenery, Seth finally got to meet and hold our nephew Ryan, and I finally got to get my Mazie!

Too bad it was raining - but if you use your imagination, you can see Moroni through the atrium window.

The landscaping at the temple was breathtaking - comparable to the Garden of Eden! Seriously, the Portland Temple is a MUST VISIT temple!

Ryan is giving Seth a hug. (The helmet is for cosmetic purposes to help shape his skull.)

Columbia River - It runs along I-84 and divides the states of Washington and Oregon. We're on the Washington side of the river at the Cape Horn look-out.

Crossing the bridge over the Columbia to the Oregon border.

We saw some goodies with a family name on them!
It's sad to read your blog about things so far away from us, but I am excited you have started your new journey. Thanks for the pictures!
ReplyDeleteYour' photos are making me homesick! I was born in Great Falls Montana, and I grew up near the Tri-Cities in WA, right along the Columbia River. Plus, I have a lot of family in Portland and Vancouver! Very jealous!
ReplyDeleteSo Mazie is yours for keeps? She is a cute dog.
